Single runs down to Denvor each day. Averaged 300- 400 miles a day. Sometimes I got lucky and got a long run over 1000 miles but then running empty back took twice as long due to constant 60+ mph winds making me park.O.Henry Thanks this. -
I don't mind going out of "my region" once in a while... as long as it is only once in a while...
I have no problem staying out for 2 or 3 or even 4 months... but I want to make sure that I can get at least 7 days off during "hometime".
Hometime for regional shown on the site is one week or 5 days on the road and weekend off or 1 and half day off... -
That's what you gain each week. Can take as much hometime as you like so long as you earned it. However let's say you build up 2 weeks worth but take 5 days. You will lose the remaining days since hometime resets the clock.
Rocks Thanks this. -
Sorry to know that...
Well... Crete site does say that the southeast division (WM, Unilever, Kimberly) runs 2,100 - 2,300 miles per week... which is about 300 miles or a little more a day... Add to that multiple stops, drop and hooks, stickers, paperwork... Errr.... -
I was out this last tour of duty for 46 days, and they didn't even blink when I said I was taking 7 days off. (I am on the RDO-21 fleet on the Shaffer side - RDO is 'required days out' btw). Of course, I turned 13k paid miles in January, so I feel I have more than earned my 7 days off.

The national dry van and refrigerated pay the most seems like...
Is the national division 80% drop and hook too? -
Former Crete driver said finding a trailer was a "nightmare"... but he left Crete 3 yrs ago... maybe a lot has changed...?
-
I would like to go back to my former company if....
- they had a southeast and south division
- had another dispatcher (a good one)
- didn't require drivers to lift weights off the ground during DOT physical (they are 100% no touch freight)
dwells40 Thanks this.
