When I last worked at Crete, 2008, I asked to transfer to Shaffer and it was no dice. So I quit.

As far as I know you can switch to either Crete or Shaffer no problem. Not sure though since I started almost 2 months ago on Shaffer side. Call your home terminal about it

I'm just starting out in this career here pretty soon. I still have no idea what to do after I get 6 months to 1 year with the mega beginner company. I am definitely not interested in teams, buying a truck or anything like that.

    Dude, just PULL REEFERS!!!!

It's not hard dude. It's winter time, you're pulling VANS, not a good combo. Reefers will move... Regardless! Just like mail. It's year round with a couple dry spots here or there!

A fellow truck driver told me that Dispatchers are like wives, they make you or break you. I still have this problem even on a local level. One guy will run the hell out of me. He gets promoted or quits and the next kid drags me along for 1800 miles a week. I try to roll with it the best I can. Like my wife always tells me, trucking sucks so find the best job you can and stick with it.

Reefer is 2nd, pull open deck, and work your way into specialized or heavy haul/over dimensional. A little more work, but much less b.s. and no grocery warehouses or lumper services to deal with. Plus it's more variety to keep the job interesting.

Hard pass on anything dealing with the elements dawg. LTL is what I'm into now. Freight or empties moving regardless!
