If i move to any other western state i will be considered for employment at crete. I am considering the move for other reasons. Considering northern nevada ....but nevada went blue after the mid term election. Still better than california. Yeah the cali state govt is hostile towards the private sector.

You want us to start a new thread about how every lazy SOB in California has sued every trucking company they can get into a courtroom?
Or how California has so regulated the industry within their borders, that any driver holding a CDL issued within that state is essentially controlled throughout the remaining states. Dictating when drivers MUST take breaks from 2000 miles away. On the trucking companies dime?
Or the fact that California was STOPPED from applying those same rules to EVERY driver regardless of where they lived, within their borders?
We could do that. But why bother.Intothesunset, Farmerbob1 and Rugerfan Thank this. -
Sounds like you still live in calif. Haha. Personally been here all my life . Way past time for my exit out of this ####e hole. Single and the my children are productive adults living in another state.
Intothesunset and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
Aren’t most Crete and Shaffer drivers mountain west and east when I was hired there they said they didn’t have many west coast drivers since it was 6 weeks out lol I wouldn’t join Crete and be forced to run 6 weeks
-
so far the farthest I have went with them is Colorado

When I was hired, a bit less than two years ago, I overheard other drivers talking. One of them was a CA driver talking about being hired as a 42 day OTR driver. He said there were no other positions available. That may simply mean that shorter term OTR jobs were filled. I do not know.

I usually run 4-5 depending how my eye feels since I came back from my eye surgery I’ve cut back my time on the road to 4 weeks when i first started I did 5-7 weeks out and I’ve been all over the west coast and east coast usually hit California or Washington state or Nevada then head back east I live in new haven Indiana might be moving half hour away on the west side of Fort Wayne

When I called Crete recruiting twice I was told no California CDL drivers and not for reasons exclusive to freight lanes but If I move to Nevada I would be considered for employment 42 day OTR. If I could get hired on to Crete from California I was going to move to another state near a Crete terminal. I would lose my hazmat endorsement because I will not have a hard street address "house" for a while.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.

I don't mind the 42 days out for a while if can keep moving loaded. 4 to 5 weeks would be better.

I’ve been running hard since August. 3000 plus a week. Very very little hometime. Maybe 5 days total. Now I’ve been on recaps for 3 weeks. I’m soooo tired. I don’t want to drive another mile. I told my dispatch that I’m not feeling well but that didn’t work. I don’t want hometime till next week. Just tired.
He gave me another load but I said I’ll never make appt. he said no problem do the best you can.
Omg, I’m tired. What do I do? Ask for a full 34++???
I’m literally trying to get caught in the snow storm coming into the Midwest but idk.Farmerbob1 Thanks this.
