Daimler Trucks recalling more than 200,000 Freightliner, Western Star trucks

The new X series stars are just freightliners with a body kit.

 

Any truck I've ever driven with collision mitigation has been nothing but aggravating. I was on I79 in WV, empty, climbing a hill coming up on a loaded 18. He was going 25, I was going 70. As I was changing lanes the system jammed on the brakes cause it thought I was too close to the slow truck. I unplugged the box on the bumper after that. No cruise control but also no feces in my pants from unexpected HARD braking.

Seems the Warning is about 3 months behind the Backup, except, somehow, in this case:
Dealers will replace the front brake modulator valves, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 30.
Owners may contact Daimler Trucks customer service at 1-800-547-0712. Daimler Trucks’ number for this recall is FL-958. NHTSA’s number for this recall is 22V-817. This recall expands and replaces a previous recall, 20V-390. All vehicles previously NOT repaired under recall 20V-390 will need to have the new remedy performed.

Im glad the guy who....fixed....my emissions also did a custom program for my bendex. It is so much more user friendly now. Never beeps, cruise works fine, never tries to throw me through a windshield hard brakeing and does soft brakeing only if you dont respond for a few seconds. So much better now.
