I need more info on the company. Where are they based out of? Are you talking about Dart Transit based in Eagan, MN? Or someone else?

Dartco is the glorified company version for Dart Transit. They are an agent for Dart or something like that.

If they are in any way associated with Dart Transit, I would stay away. There are a lot of threads on here already about Dart, just do a search.

That guy pictured on the back of Dart's trailers sure does look like a goofball. I talked to a Dartco driver last week as I was thinking about working for them. He was very happy although sitting around for a few days with no load was not uncommon. Despite what the glitzy ads say, 2-3 weeks out is the norm, so I can rule them out. He said his wife worked back at home so he sets up the dish and kicks back because he can. I had filled out an application online and they called almost as fast as I hit "send" so they do need drivers. Just have to find out WHY they need drivers. Growth ? or people running away like hell ?

I work for em now in a 62 mph truck which is about the only thing that stinks about 'em.
They are nice they don't bug ya over the qualcomm they got plenty of miles for me in fact sometimes I think I'm gonna burnout behind the miles.
I have figured out if you strut ya stuff with em you get miles but if ya sit around crying that's all you'll do is sit.
They'll get ya home not a lot but enough for me I'm single so I don't mind.
I may buy my own truck through a dealer or a friend and lease on to the Dart side in the next few months.

Stay away from Dartco and Dart transit. They talk a good game but dont follow thru. They leave you sitting way too much and god forbid you want to go home more than once every three months. My boyfriend was with Dartco for 6 months. I rode on the truck with him and was witness to all the crap they put him thru. The 1st month was great, then after that it was all down hill. We lost our personal vehicle, our home, everything. When we decided to move from Tennessee, they had him come to the terminal in Sellersburg and wanted him to clean out the truck. WE were told the o nly way he could keep his job was if he went lease purchase, which, of cousre, he did. He didnt have much of a choice. They were going to leave us sitting in the middle of the parking lot with no money and nowhere to go. This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to know more ...,let me know This company does NOTHING BUT LIE!!!! And just to clear the air... I myself am a driver with 8 yrs of experience. So I am not looking at this situation from the perspective of someone who has never driven a big truck or worked for a trucking company.

Sorry to hear that you went through all that mess, So far I don't really sit around unless they figure I'm tired from this slow ##### truck!:biggrin_25518:
I think they don't really have much freight which is why they turned em down to 62 mph and want and the Owner Ops to do the same??? :biggrin_2554:
Trust me safety ain't it either I have in fact been hit in the rear because I was forced to drive slow lucky I did not get sued like JB Hunt or either the driver (I don't know which took the blame) in Ohio because they had their trucks turned down wayyy too slow back in the days.

I look at it this way if you had a lot of freight you would not have it tied up on the freeway moving a load you would want it to hurry up safely to get that load off and pick up another and as far as the lease purchase I have talked to the drivers and they all say you do OK if you bring your own truck instead of leasing one of those that they have.
As for me I think I may go into another line of work soon this industry and hearing about horror stories like you guys went through is giving me the blues
In fact there is a glass ceiling that's hard as black ice in Wyoming in the winter in this industry, It's just not a career like say sitting behind a desk and you move up to the 50 grand range and on to become a CEO.
Still yet these trucking companies need drivers or should I say YES MEN??? :biggrin_25513:
(Not to get off subject but I gotta say this one last thing and I will start a VIP thread on this subject so we all can vent and or shame those in the power structure) As far as the political parties we argue over when we get on the CB...You guys gotta be kidding me! Those people in DC don't give a fat rat about us drivers and our working conditions only the big money donors get a seat at the round table we drivers get the scraps off the table in the back yard after the politicians and the lobbyist spit in the plate!
