Companies will always be liable for the negligence and incompetence of their employees. Lawyers are not going to take multi million dollar megacompanies out of their crosshairs and settle for the meagre assets of company drivers. One third of 900 bucks doesn't even make a BMW payment.

I can assure you that any ambiguity about your position on the issue has been eliminated.

It’s not spying when you know that it’s installed and you choose to take the job anyway.

I may have said this before. Put a webcam on the dispatchers desk, warts and grey hair and all. I'll be more than happy to monitor the dispatchers work in load planning my next pick up. And if it happens to be a Miss Pretty, then I will have to do some work to preserve my marriage lolz.

I'll buy a thousand cameras and cover the truck in it and out. It will all be mine and ready to protect (Or condemn) any problems that come up with Mr and Mrs Darwin and family on their shiny wheels out there today.

And a further defense would be to do strictly drayage local work in the Amish Country. just sort of waddling along in 3rd middle behind a Horse and Buggy with 10 miles to go before anything down the road a while. 12 mph or so. More or less. Gently and quietly keeping her rolling but nothing too wild for that horsie.

If I have to stop at the warehouse and sit 6 hours loading apple cider or frozen strudel. Hand me a few of them would they please? Ive got some friends out west to share them with.

And if more people did that then the free market would dictate if companies wanted driver facing cameras or not. But as it stands there must be plenty of people that feel the compensation that they’re getting is enough to live with a driver facing camera.

Changes are once again coming to HOS, in favor of trucking and truckers which will once again stir up the big safety groups to sue all over again and the government will capitulate and add mandates for driver facing cameras, collision avoidance, cell phone blocking tech and speed limiters to calm them down.

None of which would be necessary if truckers just followed the regulations that are written in the green book from way on back. Instead, they broke most of the rules in the book and bragged about it and other truckers, not to be outdone, made it a game of who could break the most rules in their career.
