The good news is they have ordered the parts but they don’t have a tracking yet. The other possible good news is that they will put a new transmission in. Who would I call in regards to corporate? MHC? Eaton?

Your ####ed with Eaton. In my experience they are the worst to deal with on warranty. It’s out of MHC’s hands since Eaton covers their part of the warranty on the truck separately.

If I get a new transmission, the warranty wait and being down would be worth it. Questions I have:
1) If they put in a new a transmission, would the warranty reset? On both labor and parts?
2) Eaton does warranty on vocation: they consider heavy haul over 140k gross. Any idea how that is determined? I have 7 axles and would try not to be categorized as heavy haul if at all possible. The warranty really shortens for heavy haul.
3) Any idea for the major repairs, replacements of the transmission how long the warranty is? Seems like either 2 yrs or 3 yrs. With mileage restrictions based on vocation type.
Any answers would be appreciated in advance. -
Yeah the dealer refers to Eaton as TMS? Or something in that vein. And Eaton dictates every step of the repair process.

It’s not the dealerships choice. They have to go by Eaton repair and parts process. I could’ve got the clutch in hindsight on my own and took 5-7k hit but now they are saying they have ordered the transmission as well. This I wouldn’t have been able to afford nor the possibility that the clutch wasn’t the only issue. So warranty it is and has to be with the dollar amounts of possible repairs.

Warranty doesn’t reset. It’s still your oem warranty. They don’t need to know what you’re hauling. If they do than it’s tri axle step deck hauling 60k batteries. The less they know the better they sleep and better it is for you. They get their moneys worth out of your purchase and you need to do the same. For the mileage restrictions you should get ahold of dealer and ask to get the most accurate info. Or even ask them to email it that way you have hard proof. They’re slick and you need to cover your ### with that warranty at all times.

Warranty will not reset. You'll still have the remainder of the factory Warranty.
It may sound like it's worth it, but another 150k and you'll be worried.
I'd get your auto restriction lifted, sell that truck while you can say it has a new clutch and tranny, and buy something that is appropriate with a regular 18.
Smartest thing would be get a flatbed and go back to puttin money back. Try this OD thing later when you're not in such a pinch.AFC, Sons Hero, Diesel Dave and 2 others Thank this. -
Going really good. Booked out for a month. Sure doesnt seem to stop.

1: Nope. No warranty on warranty replaced items. Whenever your factory warranty runs out is when its done.
2: Usually this is determined when the truck is built. If it was on the build sheet as heavy haul then thats the warranty. Also some factory options ( 2 speed, heavy rears, low ratio..etc) also make it heavy haul on the build sheet.
3. If you install a factory reman Eaton trans you can get 2 or 3 year warranty. If its someone elses rebuild thats up to them.Siinman, AFC, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.
