Decision: Mercer or Landstar?

Ok, I have some of the same questions the other guy's have had about mercer, I'm coming off 28 years with tankers and a 12 year stay at my last carrier, they have been sold and new company thinks we're all stupid, so sold my truck as it's a day cab and have been looking at trucks and flatbeds since.I keep hearing about mercer and landstar and now long haul trucking has been sending emails, so many questions to have answered. How about the flats with auto traps? Or are step decks better? I'm in the northeast now but may look at florida soon as kids and grandkids all live there. any real help is appreciated .I'm not staying out for weeks at a time so maybe that helps with your information, don't mind running hard to cover a load but getting to old to run like that everyday. I'm a Van driver and sing up with landstar and then switch to mercer and it was great at the beginning. then they star with truck leasing and to many trucks for the amount of loads. I'm back at landstar and won't leave.
