Canada may not allow persons with DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol) convictions to enter their country. A Canadian immigration officer will decide if you can enter Canada when you apply for a visa, an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), or upon your arrival at a port of entry.
Travelers who require in-depth information regarding the process of applying for a waiver or other admissibility questions can reach the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) during regular business hours, Monday to FridayLast edited: Sep 26, 2017

I've known a few drivers with extensive criminal records and some with serious prison time, that go to Canada pretty often. They don't say anything when questioned or outright deny having a record and for some reason they show clean when the computer check is done.
Some drivers have been caught and the company had to send another driver to retrieve the truck and driver because the driver that was caught wasn't allowed to move the truck, but was allowed to leave Canada. -
