Wel, i left Amarillo and took the 385/87 sunday around 830am..since i am on rollover hours anyway I figured I had nothing to lose...except for the 30 miles of hell on FM 1061, i love that route....i will use it most of the time unless the timing puts me in denver rush hour...it was definately faster as i was able to maintain 70-75mph except for the few small towns and 60 near the cities... this trip the traffic was fairly light until Colorado Springs...not a lot of truck traffic...Ranton pass did slow me to 40mph by the time i crested the grade...but quickly made up for it once i started the descent...i will miss the breakfast at The Trading Post...
