Denver to Amarillo Truck Route?

    It was someone asking the best route.
    Which brought in slow company trucks and why so many are hard to get around.
    Which brought in something about old school drivers moving to the shoulder.
    Which brought in...

    take I-25S to 50E and then jump back on 287.

    Wel, i left Amarillo and took the 385/87 sunday around 830am..since i am on rollover hours anyway I figured I had nothing to lose...except for the 30 miles of hell on FM 1061, i love that route....i will use it most of the time unless the timing puts me in denver rush hour...it was definately faster as i was able to maintain 70-75mph except for the few small towns and 60 near the cities... this trip the traffic was fairly light until Colorado Springs...not a lot of truck traffic...Ranton pass did slow me to 40mph by the time i crested the grade...but quickly made up for it once i started the descent...i will miss the breakfast at The Trading Post...

    I get it. I'd love a Denver-Amarillo route for sentimental reasons, on 287 (also for sentimental reasons).
