Detroit 60 series 12.7 big block

    12.7 has always been considered big block compared to L10 and M11 as well as 3106 and C12. My joke was that unlike the Cummins and Cat engines, the smaller displacement Detroit is not a smaller engine. They, 12.7, 11.1 and 14 all share the same block. Yes, I know, the bore and stroke is different, and be cause of that the 14l is not exactly the same, but for all intents and purposes, the external dimensions are the same.

    You could not fit either 11.1 or 12.7 in a short bbc truck, and that is big block vs. small block.
