OK, I got my thingamajig tweaked yesterdayand all is good. They just asked me to bobtail to Lafayette, IN to get a new trailer (pd miles- 258 ). I'm now debating whether to go now, or wait and get a 34 hr restart in. Either way would work. I've got a buddy here who's currently in Canada, but will be coming back here this afternoon. I'm waiting to see exactly when he'll get here. I might hang around and have dinner with him, or I might just go.

A couple hours after my last post, they sent me a preplan to get a load from Indy and take it to Commerce, TX. The load was scheduled to pickup tonight after 1800, so I figured I'd just take the rest of yesterday off, and head out this morning to get the new empty. I'd still have plenty of time to get down to Indy to pickup. Good plan, right?
Problem is, Wabash is not open on Sundays. I did not even consider this, dumb$^% that I am. So I lost the preplan with over 800 miles on it, and am now planned on a load from Kokomo, IN to Adrian, MI with 224 miles.
And I've got plenty of time for thingamajig tweaking. Too much, actually. Doesn't that make ya go blind?JustSonny and Rattlebunny Thank this. -

They've supposedly fixed all the electrical issues with the volvos and I'm pretty sure the egr problems were taken care of too...not sure what Swift has for engines, but i'll find out real soon...

After delivering in Adrian yesterday, they had me run two Home Depot loads from the DC in Monroe, MI. First one went to Ypsilanti (pd miles- 111) and the second went to Southfield (pd miles- 36). I will be doing another today going to Franklin, PA (pd miles 460). Another driver told me we have lost this account to JB and will only have these loads for a couple more weeks.
If I may digress for a moment, I broke my record for most drop and hooks in one day yesterday. My previous record was 4, and I did 5 yesterday.JustSonny, Schmidtrock, alex94 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I got back to Monroe yesterday morning. Amazingly, they let me keep the empty trailer, and I got a load from Napoleon, OH going to University Park, IL this afternoon (pd miles- 260). After that, I'm planned on a load from Monee, IL to Salt Lake City, UT (pd miles 1394). That one delivers Monday. I have a hometime request in for Denver on Tuesday. We'll see if I make it.

I got my load to Denver. I picked up in West Jordan, UT this afternoon, and it delivers Wednesday morning (pd miles 505). So they're a day late with the hometime request, but that's OK by me.
See ya next weekJustSonny, Schmidtrock and alex94 Thank this. -
[QUOTEAccording to my DM the planners are not giving enough details on the preplans. I had a last minute load assignment given to me on Friday. No mention of needing a TWIC card. Or mentioning about needing a safety vest. $50 for an "escort" and $10 for a vest. When I got inside the gate it was a frikken joke! This was at the Port of Philadelphia.
Croc of doodie! I got into an arguement on the Qualcom and told them to pull it off me.
I hate the East Coast./QUOTE]
Yes I wish they would put more 411 on the preplan, as an example, many times I've had a fuel stop added to the end of my previous load, fill up, accept the new preplan and voila, the special instructions say show up with half tanks. Call the numbers, message etc, try try try, slide tandems, 5th wheel etc make it work etc. Meanwhile I'm eating my clock up needlessly and end up being about 82,000 pounds and have to return to shipper/sit/wait/wait/wait or give up like I did on one load and went to the nearest dirt lot truck stop and did a 34 out in the wild west, walked about 18 miles round trip to a grocery store lol.Schmidtrock Thanks this.
