Well I finally got my Class A, and what a trip. The testing site was so booked up that I could not reschedule until this month and my temp Class A expired on the 22nd of Nov. So I was forced to take all the written tests again. I believe that I only lost 2 points on the yard maneuvers for encroaching. The road test was OK. The examiner said I earned a few points but I passed with no problems.

Thanks driver. I had signed up for the externship program, but after failing the test twice I realized my skill level was lacking and I cancelled it and spent the next 5 weeks in the yard. Yeah, it got boring and repetitious, but it was well worth it.

Some of my cop buddies have laughed, but a feel prouder for achieving this than I did when I graduated from the police academy.. I consider myself lucky that I had a bunch of great classmates and am still in contact with all of them. Most got their Class A's on their first attempt and have been working in the industry since Sept.

There have been some real jackwagons I met in the class that followed mine. They paid good money to attend and then acted like real morons once in the yard. One even rolled up the window on an instructor when he was attempting to give him pointers on the offset backing maneuver. He #####ed when he was told to practice his pre-trip inspection and even told the lead instructor that since he paid cash he should be able to chose which instructor he had for the day.

Wow. There is one instructor at our school that is very hateful on the yard...I wish I had the nerve to roll up the window on him!!!

Why did you leave the police work?
What gave you the idea to go into trucking as a career?

I was injured on the job twice and I figured that enough was enough. Let the younger officers deal with the crazies and crackheads. Why trucking? I started driving straight trucks right after I quite school and I loved it. I figured that it couldn't be that hard to learn tractor-trailer. I WAS WRONG....LOL
