I went through school with CRST and drove for about a month. I passed my initial DOT with no sleep apnea recommendation.
On a short break once in CA I went to the hospital in hopes of telling a medication that I needed and they told me my blood pressure was really high. I told them and they said I would need to see their DOT Dr again before they put me back on the road. When I met with her, my blood pressure was good again but she said she didn't like my weight and it was her own personal policy that everyone over a certain BMI take a sleep apnea study before she let them drive again. I had no money or insurance since I just started a month ago so CRST sent me home. I literally lived in poverty for a while without coming back up because no one would hire me. I worked under the table a little. I finally got Medicaid and was able to take a sleep study and I don't have sleep apnea. Several times I've tried to get back hired with CRST to fulfill my contract but they refuse to hire me. They say they aren't hiring for my area for years now.
I currently work driving a bus and have been for a few years now but I just want to drive trucks. I feel like I was screwed over here.

DoT did not have requirements on sleep apnea testing.
    different states did have.

Her personal policy, shouldn’t affect your livelihood, and i’d have said so, how’d she like if your decision banned her from working?

This was 6 years ago. Would there be anything I could do now?

Problem is thats in cali and most of those idiots there get a kick and rush out of using "power" to destroy other peoples lives or use it to exploit money from them.

Cpap racket took another cdl. Nothing you can do to fight that scam. Crst was in on it. They sent you to their approved dr. They made no money off of you. You did not go thru sleep study with them so they want nothing to do with you now.

Get a fresh DOT physical if your current one is expired, but not at Concentra; anywhere but Concentra.
CVS Pharmacy seems a good place for the DOT physical. Is your current DOT physical for driving buses current? Most companies will accept that initially to get you in the door, but may require a new one, at the company's expense though. You won't be required to pay for it.
Plenty of companies will hire you then.
    Where is your location?
Bad economy right now, but reefer companies will hire you because food and medicine has to keep moving whether the economy is good or bad.
Many reefer companies have refresher courses for drivers like you that have a cdl and little to no trucking experience.
Where is your location? State and nearest city/town?
Forget CRST, there's plenty of other companies that will hire you.
You're a proven safe cdl driver from your bus driving experience.
Note* don't talk about CRST to any future employer. You may have to explain why you left though, so have some explanation for that. It was years ago, so shouldn't be a problem since no wrecks or drugs were involved. Just say, if asked, CRST told you to get a sleep apnea test, but you couldn't because you had no money or insurance to cover it. Finally, months later, you were able to get the sleep apnea test and passed with absolutely no problems. The bus company had no issues with hiring you hauling passengers.

On job applications be sure and list your bus driving experience. You're not the first bus driver on this forum that switched to trucking; there are several others.
You shouldn't have told CRST you stopped to get a prescription filled at the hospital. That's what sealed your fate.

I am in Hampton VA. I never lost my Class A because the bus requires a DOT here. My company has a contract with Concentra so I have to pass them every year. They do suck but yeah my license is in good standing and I'm ready to work OTR. I owe 2075 to CRST.

Hampton, VA is a good location for plenty of good refrigerated or flatbed company jobs. Refrigerated or flatbed should have you on the road soon, if you're ready to go.
