Newbern, TN has the best McDonalds. Too bad people screwed up trucks being allowed there by littering and tearing up the parking lot.

That side lot at mcdonalds, does not belong to that convience store. They weren't saying to much when they first opened about trucks parking, then all the garbage started showing up. I think the final thing, was when they had to call wreckers in one morning to pull trucks out, because it rained overnight, and they were all stuck. But the state did make the shoulder wider right out in front, most trucks still stop and run in get what they need, there's just no parking. If you do stop its easy to get back out to the 4-lane though.

Staying out for Christmas as well. Did that last week with my 2.5 year old son, we drove up 685 miles to spend time with his paternal grandparents. I needed to get back to work to get some rest! That's a long trip with a toddler strapped into a car seat crying and screaming for hours in between playing and sleeping peacefully. Pulling over just to go pee is a nightmare, he's crawling under stalls lol while dad's using the facilities.

I like driving the truck on Christmas Day. The one day of the year that the 4wheeling motoring public really notices and appreciates big truck truckers. I used to see the big trucks traveling on holidays and wondered if they got stranded by their dispatchers somehow....

I stayed out thanksgiving since im not a big fan of that holiday anyway, but put in plenty of notice for Xmas vacation. They have to know you're dead serious about it if you are. The truck gets dropped off at the nearest terminal with the keys in it if that's what it comes to.

I'm now on my way home. Be there by noon until Monday.

    Oh, well.

JB Hunt 'guarantees' one Holiday at home per year...and that's Christmas Day. In 6 years with JB, I haven't missed a Christmas. Of course, JB doesn't have PAID Holidays either.
