Was still noisy as I drove on shoulder to the next exit -
Are you sure it's a rear end? Noises and vibrations travel the driveline. 1 qt is not even low.
Are your airbags up?
If the noise is in the rear end, nothing but repair will help.
Double check those air bagsOxbow, Deezl Smoke, AModelCat and 1 other person Thank this. -
It is rear end. Temp kept climbing 200+ when I've heard it getting noisy. I wasn't even climbing any hills as it's mostly flat here and should've been 130-150sh with weather being low 30s
Oxbow and Deezl Smoke Thank this. -

200f is not at all bad. Even a head wind will apply more power to the drive system.
1 quart low is not at all bad.
But tire pressure should be checked. And now days, with the infrastructure falling apart, the asphalt type in repaired sections will cause all sorts of noise differences.
If you're still sitting and waiting, back up a few feet with the window down and listen. Did it make a clank when you put it in reverse? While moving backward, did you feel anything in the ####pit like a loping clunk in the floor board etc.?
You may have 1 or more dry sockets in a u-joint, or.....worse. Get a good look at the drive shaft between the rear ends and if possible, with the engine off and brake set, reach in and try to push the drive shaft around and see if it moves sideways or has any sort of slack in it.mitmaks Thanks this. -
I dropped trailer and took side road, noise is still present starting at 15mph
