Since when doesn't a Chicago company run on the right side of the law? :biggrin_2559:

While reading stories such as above and everyone advising drivers to simply say NO, I completely agree, BUT why put this burden on drivers? Trucking companies such as these should be shut down, but it ain't going to happen and we all know it.

Why is FMCSA turning a blind eye to these companies? And if and when an audit is done on one of these companies, the penalty or punishment comes out as a joke. Just like cracking down on all these 1099 companies, a joke!!

That's why I was used to being fired for saying no to companies that eventually imploded and went out of business while I ran for someone else in better dispatching conditions. No is no.

Granted the anti corection laws did not come into play until 2012, way too late for any good with me. But this industry if you can bully newbies into running illegally why not? And no one takes a moment to teach newbies in school what saying NO really means.

Not that big of money even for the company these days. They spend way more than they make. Those small companies are mostly reliant on spot market freight. They'll be out of business in 10 years or less. I may be generous there

Allow me to explain. These people willingly go along with the illegal activities until they realize they’re being scammed and that they’re never going to cash in as they were told.

That’s when, and only when, they decide to pull out their moral compass and follow it to this forum where they bravely and courageously warn the rest of us of the dastardly deeds they’ve been subjected to.

In reality, they should take a long look into a mirror. For there is where they will find the individual deserving of their anger and venom.

For their own greed is why they reached for the first shiny object offered to them by the fine folks of Eastern Europe.

They themselves know this as well as we do and that’s the true source of their anger. But their need to somehow save face forces them to seek rationalization and justification for the ill-advised decision to see their self as the victim.

And, that is the answer to the question you ponder.

    What do I win?

I had a quick stint with CD Hallock running jet fuel. First time I ran out of hours to bring truck back to the yard for the next driver. Second time I called dispatch and explained I couldn't do the second part of the day without running out of hours. The young lady started screaming on the phone: "I have two drivers that can do both loads in 10 hours!"
Me: "then you should keep them. I quit."
My first red sign was all the other companies calling us "the outlaws" at the loading rack. Should have run away right there and then.
