I don't think in-person sales calls without an appointment are as welcome as they maybe once were. Before trucking, I was in the corporate world for a long time and in charge of the purchasing of some very expensive products and services. There's not a chance I would have given someone time that showed up unexpectedly. I was too busy to listen to a sales pitch when I wasn't looking for a new vendor at the time. Phone calls were almost as bad. It just takes time away from whatever I really needed to get done that day. The only sales calls that ever "worked" were email, and that in itself was pretty rare. I would occasionally respond to an unsollicted email when they just happened to be offering something I needed at the time. It was luck of timing basically. Mostly, I found new vendors through my own research and word of mouth referrals. Sales is a tough job. I tried it for a while and determined I wasn't cut out for it. I hope it works out for you though.

I give you and anybody else that seeks direct customers a high five! Takes courage to go out and sell your service. I have dabbled in it as well with not much luck.
