Rule of thumb: Any company that feels the need to hide their dispatchers behind bullet proof glass and/or run drivers through a metal detector before entering the building, probably is not worth working for. I mean, come on, that should be a clue when seeking employment. If you DO decide to work for one of these companies to "pay your dues," be prepared to deal with the bravo sierra without killing folks in the process.

and im sure the debate about guns will come up, but they shouldnt ban guns they should ban companies like knight for raping men of their dignity.

 

The funny part, it took me a whole two weeks to figure that out. Sometimes we just have to learn the hard way.

 

Guarantee that if we could see behind the scenes of any of the mega's, there is a certain percentage of new hires, they just have so many, that fail through no fault of the drivers at all. They get the bad DM, truck, freight, whatever, they just get the wrong circumstances, and they are done. I'd bet any money it. And it's just part of the day to day business operations at a mega, and its acceptable to them. Problem is, that percentage are real people that just got totally F'd.

 

Me too but it does happen. We all know about CR England's bulletproof glass, metal detectors, and armed guards. Quite an investment that someone obviously paid for with their life at some point.

About 5 years ago a Schneider bulk driver ran his truck and trailer into the Edwardsville Il operating center and after a several hour standoff with authorities, he commited suicide.

Saw a Prime driver in handcuffs a few years ago out front of their headquarters on the shoulder of I-44. Got to googling a few hours later and found he had threatened someone's life in the office while enroute to Springfield. The cops were waiting on him.

 

if anyone else is thinking of doing this please dont, could you at least just park your truck across all the lanes on the gw bridge and walk away. that would be funny and nobody would have to get hurt. just an idea

 

Werner had me sit for 4 days in Indiana for an oil change at their $35 a day breakdown pay. Then they dispatched me back to the home terminal area and couldn't figure out why I called them up and quit.

 

Don't even do that. Take their truck back to the terminal, and tell them to put it where the sun never, ever shines. Then go someplace else. Keep moving forward, the Lord has ways of paying people back that would never cross your mind, and vengeance belongs to Him.

 

I would not be at all surprised to see an increase in it, if anything.
