Where I used to work I was the early one in that day and there was a flatbed at the gate. Clearly he had arrived late at night and was sleeping. So I walked up and did the usual 3 knock on the side of the cab, grabbed my cell phone to call up to the front. Well me grabbing my cell phone had distracted me from the ensuing disaster.... as I forgot to walk away from the cab. With a haunted house door style squeak, the driver's door opens and my eyes are assaulted by the sight of a stomach, leading its master out of the truck. This 200lb stomach roll came at me with the speed of light and the inertia of a tsunami. I managed to duck, but it still pushed the drivers shirt too far up, and his pants waaay to far down...

I think I am still partially blind from it. After the initial shock of this, my nasal cavity was set afire by the most odoriferous cloud of pollution known to mankind ... the stench that flowed over me was a combination of all things human, that had gone to rot.. and were waiting for the buzzards to clean the bones... There is simply no way to define, describe or apply an analogy to this...

I swear to this day, that vision and smell haunts me every time I walk near someone's drivers door...and if I hear that same door squeak.. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I have no idea how larger people do it. I can see driving a van or reefer, but a flatbed? It tough crawling around the trailer and the load, so sweat just added to the mix...

I just stopped at the Flying J in Blacksburg, Sc to grab a shower. On my way back I observed the attendant wiping down one of the toilets with the shower towels. It was clear that the previous occupant had either food poisoning or the flu. I declined the shower and am currently enroute to the local Walmart to purchase my own set of towels.

Says the guy who parked in the Walmart for a 10 hr break instead of the truckstop. Buy your crap, and leave. Walmart is not a truckstop, and with a truckstop just across the street with ample parking, you're every bit part of the problem as the litter bugs.

Let's see... I stopped there and parked in the dedicated area, bought a 26" TV/DVD combo, 3 movies, some pet food, $75 worth of grroceries, AND took my trash w/ me. I'm confident Walmart would agree that my use of the lot was mutually beneficial. If your looking to justify disturbing behavior with a "well, she's doing it so why not me" mentality you'll garner no empathy from me, so how 'bout shooting blanks somewhere else, princess.

Listen freight hauler, Walmart is not a truckstop. It's not a place to take a 10 or 34, plan better or get earplugs if those noisy reefers bug your dainty ears. Reading comprehension classes would do you some good as well. Both types of behavior are equally disturbing to business owners or property owners, this resulting in a truck ban, rookie.

There are some WMs that have specific spaces for trucks and RVs. Not that many, but some.

Princess, I see we disagree. I don't have to plan for nadda. Did the tractor/trailer gig but now run a 40' straight truck so have yet to be kicked out of anywhere. One of the reasons I move on is to make it EZ for my 70'+ friends. But, I will not deny I HATE REEFERS. Now, I'm in a stretched Volvo 670, meaning my fuel consumption is the same as yours. My spot IS bought and paid for at the truck stops and I will use them as necessary .Therefore, I've had the perfect opportunity to observe most scenarios. Up to and including most major retailers. How 'bout you?
