For example, lets say you hit your 70 hours for the week, have to take a day off, and are a long ways from home. Is it easy to park your truck someplace and rent a car to explore the area?

I've never rented a car but I'll call a taxi and go downtown for the night then grab one back to the truck (unless I meet someone with a bed worth sharing lol)

Lexington was fun on a Friday night when UK was about done for the summer. Pittsburgh, Chicago, Bakersfield, Vegas/Whiskey Petes, have all been some really fun nights I managed to work out while still under a load. You don't have to be on a 34 to have fun.

Naw, most of them sit at a Pilot yakking on the CB for 34 straight hours I think.

Sure, if you can find a hotel with truck parking. Or arrange transportation from and to the truck stop.

If I'm doing a reset, sure, get on a bike or uber. Most of the time I'm cleaning the truck and restocking food. 34 hours isn't long

I've done it many times in my career. I like to go to ballgames. I usually uber, but occasionally I'll rent a car if I'm on a long layover.

Aint no time to stay at a motel, rent car, or anything else. Once you hit your 70 then you got some hrs coming back the next day to keep ya stuck in that truck and rolln' down the highway.

Uber is your greatest friend on time off. I made the most of every minute I had while OTR when I was sitting be it seeing the sights, trying out new restaurants, checking out museums or hanging at the local Barnes and Nobel reading books I'll never buy.

I absolutely do, or did, I'm dedicated now and only out for a night at a time. But hell yes! Enjoy yourself, man! I had some great times in Denver, Cheyenne (believe it or not!), Seattle, Atlanta..... On and on. You work hard for that money, treat yourself every once and awhile

I never wander off on my own but if Mrs. Sawmill comes with me then yes, it'ss tourist time. One time we parked at the TA in ABQ and rented a car at the hotel across the street. Went all over town taking pictures of us in front of all the houses and places from Breaking Bad. Even found the place that made and sells the blue meth (It's rock candy). The kids loved it.
