Does anyone know any brokers that will work with a new startup with less than a year experience?

When I started in 2010 I had no trouble at all when dealing with brokers .I was never asked about my experience or how long I had been in business.

Are you a new O/O with previous driving experience?

Is this an issue you are having right now? Has any specific brokerage turned you down and told you that the brokerage will not dispatch loads to a company that is under a year old?

Brokers are desperate for drivers and do not care about experience, they will work with you. But beware these same brokers will take advantage of your limited experience and will throw very low rates at you.

What do brokers have to do with drivers, drivers are not trucks.

By the way if this was true, rates would not be so low.

Brokers don’t have/see information about drivers experience, but age of the authority. Some brokers require 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days of active authority, depend of who you deal with. In some cases they make exception with approval of the supervisor on their policy, if they really need to move load. And also some brokers ask mc number first to see who you are (age and how many trucks I guess), and then giving you information on the load.

I had one or two that wouldn't work with me. Had some I explained and could prove being in business, just was a new to my authority.

Had one that wouldn't use me because I had not had a inspection in 3 years. I asked how they wanted me to fix that. Guy on the phone said "drive into scale and ask for one". I had not laughed that hard in awhile. I said Im sorry that will not happen for me to haul your one load. Think I laughed some more.

We work with new entrants. We're more concerned about your CSA scores and making sure you're doing what you're supposed to be doing than we are about the age of authority.
