I just heard Texas signed on with PrePass. No scales next 800 miles....oh well it was fun while it lasted.
Do I need a hazmat reg book in the cab in order to carry it?

Straight from the source.
Or ask your employer. -
I would say Iowa80.com and you could order one off of there. Look on Amazon also. Its the 2008 emergency response book.

Most of the tanker yankers I worked for handed out the ERG as a CYA in case the shipper failed to give out the required info. The ERG guidebook is not required IF you have the correct information from the shipper.
Blame your trainer, this should have been covered during HM training. -
I stopped at a Pilot, a Loves, a Flying J, and the Jane Lew truck stop, asking each if they sold the book(s).....not one of them even carry the emergency response book nor regulation book. All of them sold placards, go figure.
One clerk, at the Loves, claimed it had something to do with the company 'DAS' who sells them all their trucker publications (ie. log books, safety regs, etc)..maybe DAS pulled them off the shelves? idk. Makes no sense. -

JJ Keller is the one that publishes all that trucking literature. I don't see why the truck stops don't have them. They are normally by the logbooks.
Here's straight from JJ Keller with some better covers and binders.
