I CALLED IN ABOUT A FLATBED LOAD HE HAD POSTED ON A THURSDAY AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS OVER WIDTH SO I DONT HAUL OVERSIZED LOADS SO RIGHT BEFORE I HANG UP HE TELLS ME THAT IT CAN BE BROKEN DOWN AND MADE LEGAL SO I PROCEED TO TAKE THE LOAD. ON THE RATE SHEET IT STILL STATES 11.6 WIDTH SO I CALLED JEFF THE BROKER AGAIN TO CONFIRM HE WOULD BE BROKEN DOWN HE CONFIRMED. ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY MY DRIVER DRIVES OVER 200 MILES TO PICK UP THE LOAD ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE LOAD CAN ONLY BE BROKEN DOWN TO 10.5 WIDTH , IT IS STILL OVERSIZED SO I CALL THE BROKER AND HE YELLS AT ME LIKES IT MY FAULT AND ASK'S ME ARE YOU GONNA TAKE THE LOAD OR WASTE MY TIME, SO I TELL HIM LOOK 1ST OF ALL JUST ADMIT THAT YOU MADE A MISTAKE WE ARE ALL HUMAN , THE SHIPPER TELLS ME DRIVER THEY TOLD JEFF IT WAS 127 INCHES 10.5 FEET BUT JEFF DOESNT KNOW HOW TO COUNT HE MADE A MISTAKE SO WHEN I CALL HIM OUT ON IT HE INSULTS ME AND PUTS US ON THE DO NOT LOAD LIST. NOW CHECK THIS OUT, WE DROVE OVER 200 MILES EMPTY TO PU LOAD, WE WERE ON TIME, WE GET LIED TO ABOUT THE SPECS, WE GET INSULTED BY THE BROKER, WHEN I FIRE BACK HE PUTS US ON THE DO NOT LOAD LIST . Get things RIGHT on paper next time, word of mouth means nothing, especially when working with new brokerage.

I have hauled a couple loads for him. I didn't have any problems. What was the pay on that load. Must have been good to run 200 miles empty to fetch.
Sad to hear you lost out on the revenue. Sucks to run MT and not be able to take a load.
    Better luck in the future.

You wouldn't know this if you don't haul oversize, but you can't pull permits for a divisible load therefore if it was reasonably able to broken down into a legal load it couldn't be offered as an OD load in the first place as the permits would not be approved or if they were would be revoked at the first port of entry.

OP said it was broke down to 10-5.
You can get permits for divisible loads, tarp it.!! haha.
At least 50% of what I haul is oversize. I don't haul heavy but I do wide, tall and long.
This load, I would have got permits and found something else to haul with it.

I had an issue with Jeff. He is not a good broker in my eyes. I took a load from him. Arrived to pickup, shipper tells me she had offered the load to him in the past few days along with other brokers as well. She never heard back from him period. The load was given to another broker that had a truck available. I called Jeff and informed him of the situation. He tells me it is a mistake and he will sort it out. I'm sitting at the shippers desk . He calls her and gets the same story. Calls me back and tells me that he is working on it and will call me back. I tell him the load is gone pay me truck ordered not used. He tries to get the shipper to pay. It's not her fault she's not paying. He's not paying. Until I got in touch with Mr Brock. I got my tonu and I occasionally haul directly for that particular shipper.
