Overweight tickets don’t go on a carrier’s CSA, so they won’t be in the driver’s PSP, so not sure how future companies would know about overweight tickets because they also don’t show up on a driver’s MVR.

When I came to my current outfit 20 years ago I had several then-recent overweight tickets in the high 4-figure range, and one I still had to go to court for. They didn’t care.

It shows up on your criminal record, that can be viewed online in some states for free, also i have a overweight ticket that i got for being 100 pounds over on my trailer axle, in missouri. officer was definitely being a jerk, that showed up on my psp report. it obviously depends on the company, yes most dont care, but there are some that do.

Okie dokie, if you say so. I’ve hauled a lot of livestock and Ag loads and I’ve gotten quite a few overweight tickets over the years. Even the ones in the $5-800 range didn’t show up on my “criminal record”. They’re not a moving violation.
kylefitzy, Speedy356, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Same here. I got one for $7K in a dump trailer once, and I actually looked for that one.Long FLD Thanks this.

I guess missouri is just a state that does it then because mine is definitely on my criminal record, just like everything else in trucking you can get lucky, but it does not last forever.

Arkansas used to be 100 minimum, plus depending on location .04-.10/ per pound over.
They were gonna get super strict in over 90k loads without out permits.. I dunno if they have. -
So one time, my rookie year, I got an overweight ticket in Knoxville for grossing 98k with no permits. Western Express got a ticket too. Unless you went to jail for being overweight, which isn't unheard of, I'm skeptical on what your saying here, especially being over 100 lbs on a trailer axle. Missouri is fairly lenient on axle weights. Ive dodged a few citations there. The aforementioned 98k ticket didn't even show on any record. Didn’t stop me from getting job either. Overweight isn't a moving violation so that's where my skepticism comes in here.

They were talking about taking you to jail in Arkansas if over 100k for “destruction of state property” for bridges and roads.
