Mine did (I went through Sage Technical Services in Billings Mt). I am positive all schools do though.

It depends, their are schools with automatic trucks. And the schools that have standard and actually teach a student to shift most just teach enough to past dmv, his real learning experience will be once he get on with a company and go out with the trainer.

I see you're from NC. That is a double-clutch required state for the CDL road test. -
CA is also double clutch required adn i must say its way easier than i ever thought it would be. If the school doesnt teach him how to shift then he needs to demand his money back and go somewhere else. But the will most likely only teach enough for him to pass the dmv test

They teach you what you need to know. So you can pass the DMV test.

good cause i,ve seen the youtube videos and and surely seem harder than it looks to learn to shift gears. but he;s a quick learner i have high confidence in him'.. thanks alot guys

Wouldn't a school teach you how to shift so you can drive so you can pass a driving test. Sorry, that was a rhetorical question.
