No, there is no way they could justify exposing drivers to that much radiation.

I saw a documentary somewhere (don't remember if online or tv) that showed the sensors at a scale house measuring the heat that was radiating from each hub...both tractor and trailer. It was wild and really impressive to see.

Speaking of "Rays" I have a True Story to tell and a question to follow....Only guys over 40 will know though.

So Its 1991......I'm on the Ohio Turnpike heading East Just Before exit 3 (today would be exit 59)
Theres a Bear in the Middle facing the eastbound side.....

As I Pass Him (Doing the speed limit of 55 mph) I See a RED Beam of light strike strike my vehicle as I pass.......Now Whats very interesting, I Felt it almost like a low voltage of electricity through my body.

I was startled a bit. To This Day,I Have no Idea what that was.....

Can Anyone Help out? Im Sure it was a form of Radar- But I felt low current hit me as I Passed

Knoxville, TN scales on I-40 had Gamma Ray detectors. The were passive and didn't emit any radiation.

Never saw xray machines besides the border crossing. I know there's heat, radiation scans. Kinda hard to hide an xray machine. Last time i got xray it was a slow process. I was empty with a flatbed.....and they still want to xray me. It would of been faster just looking inside the cab if i was hiding something or someone.

I think most folks haven’t seen an xray for trucks. I’ve only seen one and it was going out of Laredo, TX on I-35. Not everyone goes through it. I’ve gone through it like 4 times.

The Laredo area is well known for illegal immigrants hiding in between trailer skirts. We were often advised to look under our trailers before heading out Laredo, and we were not allowed at the Pilot on exit 13/12b on I-35.
