CDL schools teach you the basics. They’re really there to teach you how to pass the CDL DMV test.

As far as real driving, no. A trainer from a trucking company will teach you that.

It's not going to be a Rose garden out there. Don't worry about learning to drive you'll get plenty of practice lol. Keep your mistakes to a minimum that cdl is your livelihood. Don't be afraid to ask the seasoned drivers questions. 4 decades ago I was a rookie and no cdl training. Back then either you were self taught or Uncle Bud showed you the ropes.

Some schools (like trucking companies) are better than others...what can ya say ? I've seen new CDL holders that didn't know how to fuel their tractor... Patience , common sense , listening to your trainer will take you further than most CDL mills...it's a trade and a lifestyle so watch listen and learn...be confident you made the right decision... There is still a lot of helpful drivers out there that will help you along , especially if you're respectful and attentive to their words...I've helped drivers set their tandems , get their weight right , to help. em tarp and more than one
driver help or show me a trick...not very often any longer but some brother ship still exists on the road
...be safe and remember courtesy is contagious
