Hi A Bug, listen to Hurst, he is spot on. Remember, you are supposed to be the professional in that situation. It's easy to use your size as an intimidating factor, but always remember, things can, and do go wrong in an instant, and you will more than likely kill someone's family member in the process. Can you live with that? I don't mean to be harsh, but if you are that stressed out behind the wheel of a truck, you have no business being in a truck. When I came across a situation like that, I would either back way out of it, or pull over and have a cup of coffee, or something. It only translates into a minute or 2 out of your day, and will probably save a life.

Quick story.( well, kind of) Very early on in my career, I drove a Mack R model pulling a 28 ft dump trailer. I was hauling a load of sand to a golf course across some 2 lane highway in Indiana, straight as an arrow. That truck would do maybe 58 mph loaded. I came up on an old man going 50 mph in front of me. I waited for traffic to clear, pulled out to pass, and as soon as I got half way past this guy, he would step on the gas, and I'd have to pull back behind him. This happened twice, naturally, I was getting upset. On the 3rd time I pulled out to pass, got half way past him, he did the same thing. I said to myself, not this time old man, put my blinker on and started to come back over with him right next to me. The next thing I saw in my right mirror, was a big cloud of dust, I'm sure I put him in the ditch. I didn't stop, but felt so bad about it, I took a different way back, because I thought maybe the cops would be waiting for me. That bothered me all my years of trucking, and needless to say, I never did that again.

I get irritated at people who can't maintain speed even when I'm in my personal car.
A few weeks ago, I was stuck behind a JB Hunt Intermodal driver who couldn't maintain speed, and this was in Indianapolis on I-65. I would change lanes to pass, he sped up. I got behind him, he slowed down. We went through a construction zone, and this wheel holder didn't bother to drop his speed down to the posted 45 mph speed limit. Finally I had enough, and called state police, telling them this driver was possibly drunk, or extreemly fatigued. 30 miles down the highway, he got pulled over.w.h.o Thanks this. -
Just drive safely and legally. It drives the idiots nuts. Comet to a full stop at stop signs. Don't run yellows. Want to really piss them off? Do the speed limit. You'll also piss off the super truckers.
The smart car drivers aren't so smart. They paid more for a small car, that costs more to buy and operate than other small cars. (which have more room)
Sometimes there's nothing you can do except get off the road, park, take a 15 minute break, and hope that idiot is long gone when you start driving again. -
GenericUserName Thanks this.
