With ChatGPT today it’s much easier to create business plans than it was prior to this. I have read a lot of trucking forums and don’t see clear direction for this or folks sharing business plans. Rather than recreate the wheel, I was wondering if folks could share with me their business plan they used when they first were becoming an O/O or point me somewhere that has easily accessible ones that have already been developed.

What advice could you give someone interested in becoming an O/O in regards to writing business plans? What have you done in the past that you found success or things to stay clear from in writing one? Has anyone used ChatGPT to write a business plan?

When I use ChatGPT and ask it if it can create a business plan to be able to become an O/O and obtain semi truck, here is what it generates initially. Once I start to get more serious about it, I can drill down into each section of the plan with the help of ChatGPT to help me create each section of it and eventually create the entire plan with its help.

If you’re just planning to get one truck and drive it yourself then there’s really no need for a business plan or commercial financing or getting the SBA involved. You’d be better off dealing with your local bank where they know you. There’s usually more favorable terms going that route.

A lot of drivers think about starting with one truck and building a business with more trucks as they go. They think like that until they actually get two or three more trucks and find out what a gigantic PITA a trucking company can really be.
Four trucks running does not mean four times as much profit. Ever.

It's exponential, and inversely proportional. 4x the trucks, 16x the stress.
4x the trucks also seems to be 1/4x the profit.

@Mountain Mover , I apologize for all theses dunderheads on here offering you non helpful advice and making insipid remarks. Never fear though I have a solution for you. I humbly suggest that you contact one KEVIN RUTHERFORD. He is a business genius and will get you to be a Certified Master Contractor and can help with all your business plan needs. He is FAR more knowledgeable than any of these goofs that don’t know a business plan from a loose leaf log book. Good luck
