Yes, but you'll either be leasing a trailer or losing some percentage to the company you are pulling for.
I think they refer to it as 'power only'. -
That's right. With Landstar, you're leaving 7% on the table

Yehhhh. Since the company's name is on the invoice, trailer and contract, most companies would rather maintain the trailer for consistancy. Also, where trailer pools are necessary for drop and hook customers, company trailers are best. It's not a matter of money, it's a matter of consistancy and versitility.
WorldofTransportation Thanks this. -
Depends on who you want to work for. If your planning on one of the bigger dry van carriers, you'll want to pull their trailers considering they do a lot of drop and hooks.
Flatbedding you'll make more with your own trailer. But that's because most flatbed companines don't drop and hook.
Really depends on the type of company you want to pull for.Cetane+ Thanks this. -
at the company I work for we pull the same trailer all of the time. lots of the o/o own their own trailer. It saves 9% of the gross every week. I think you can pay for a $55000 trailer in about 3 years.

I guess that depends on so many things, but I just prefer to own and control the whole enchilada. What do you prefer?

enchiladas are good. but sometimes you just have to settle for the entree
i'd consider that option. but i'm more of an enchilada guy
