Do you pass trucks governed 1mph less than you?

While I support your campaign to alert drivers that they shouldn't try to pass if they can't pass quickly in traffic, I will roughly quote the father of Method acting:

"It is VERY difficult to create drama with only one person on the stage". - Stanislavski

If I am being passed slowly, with traffic backing up, then I consider that I AM part of the problem. It doesn't matter AT ALL whether I feel the passing trucker is a "drama queen", "passing princess", or self centered mindless cluck.

The ONLY point that matters is to maintain my spacing and make sure traffic can flow around me. When I ran in an governed truck that meant my ONLY option was to slow. In an ungoverned truck I have the option to speed up to not impede the bull hauler until there is space in traffic for him to get over and THEN I slow to facilitate the pass.

Get OVER the need to ascribe bad labels on other drivers. Facilitate their passes and get on with your day. There is far less drama and far more safety. Although in the long run it might hurt one's Youtube channel hits, your sense of being centered and "on your A Game" will be enhanced.

I had a fellow Swift driver that was coming up on me very slowly.
He went into the left lane to pass me about 100 yards in back of me, and blocked traffic, while he was barely 1/2 MPH faster.

I just sighed and slowed down to let him pass.
Maybe his time is more valuable than mine, or he simply didn't care.

I will pass a truck that is barely slower than me, but only if I have a good chance to do it quickly - like if I am lighter and faster on a hill or have no one coming up behind me for a couple miles.
If not I will back down just a bit to stay behind.
A minute or two won't kill my schedule.

I'm more concerned with those mentally ill drivers who just have to be in front of the pack and expect all the other similarly speed governed trucks to slow down for them. They just have this princess entitlement mentality.

I have found that 5 blinks and a trailer sway will convince all but the really stupid that I'm coming over. 6th blink, I'm moving, the end result is up to them.

Yeah like the cti truck behind me today near York ne .
Had my cruise set at 65 and he couldn't get around me even after I backed out of it .
He then slammed on the brakes and got behind me weaving around from the shoulder to the center line waving his arms carrying on like a baby.
Sorry hold it on the floor steering wheel holders .
    Act like a professional!

My truck is set at 66 which is the trucking equivalent of blue balls with all the 65 mph trucks out here.

No matter, I just let the adaptive cruise take over and if/when I get a chance to pass without making a spectacle of it, I do so. Otherwise I ride it out. Ain't like I can go all that much faster anyway.

Quite the opposite I'd say. You hold the pedal down and go. Driving an ungoverend truck I burned a lot more energy minding speed and passing all day long only to hit the same traffic jam everyone else is caught up in.

At least I feel it takes the target off my back to be doing one constant speed.

I'm a quite the opposite, I can be in a hurry and find myself cruising along at my favorite RPM. On the two lanes I have to drop a gear to maintain the rpm I cruise at. Power has nothing to do with this cause my truck has plenty, it's about the sound of the engine. If I had to hold one down all day that would drive me nuts. What do you do when you want just that little bit extra?
