Truck parking is and has been a problem for a long time. To me it doesn’t really make a difference whether it’s a weekend and drivers are on a 34 hr reset or just parking for a 10 hr break during the week. Do you think there’s less parking on weekends or the week
Do you think truck stops have fewer parking spaces on weekends or during the week

In my area of the world -- I definitely see more available parking on the weekends.

it was "usually" sunday nights, they would start to get full as the trucks were parked, waiting for that monday appointment -
It depends.
There are many places that on the weekend, the spaces are taken up by dropped trailers, bobtails, and local drivers.
Metro Atlanta is one of these places.
Other areas, spaces are yours for the choosing on the weekend.
Weekdays, maybe not so much. It also depends a lot upon when you stop.
I always tried to "start early, stop early" as much as possible. Maximize my hours by driving at night.mjd4277, Blue jeans, hope not dumb twucker and 3 others Thank this. -

In my hometown, there's a lot of smaller trucking companies that rent out spots at the local truck stops. In other words, it's almost full 24/7 on the weekends. During the week, almost empty until 9pm.
Midwest seems to have way more parking on weekends besides major cities48Packard Thanks this. -
I’ve been driving local hauling fuel for some time now so Parking shortage doesn’t apply to me anymore. I don’t miss the parking shortage from my otr days.

I usually see owner operators trucks and company trucks left as people are doing their home time. Of course they park in the best spots never in the back of the lot. Hell I have even come across rest areas with trucks left for home time.
bzinger Thanks this.
