Ask if you can observe the job being done so ya know it's done right. If not then they don't earn your business. I've had tire an brake work done at speedco an never had any issues. They are owned by or partnered with Love's now.
Do you trust Speedco?

Easy fix: plan your PREVENTIVE maintenance during your time at home.

And in all fairness if stuff like oil caps or drain plugs were left out then being as one drives equipment that is one's livelihood and worth sometimes better than 6 figures then the wise thing might be to check your rig over real well when leaving a shop to ensure none of those important things are missing. Ya know like you do everyday on your properly performed pre trip inspection that you as a professional driver do on every piece of equipment that you hook too to make sure equipment is safe an can pass a d.o.t. inspection.

What do you expect from a $12 an hour heavy duty diesel mechanic?
Find an independent shop that you like and stick with them.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I agree. I don't even leave the Beacon without walking around my truck. A few months ago they just 'forgot' to wash my trailer. Still wondering about that one. I usually watch them do the whole wash but I stepped out to take a call or something (once) and that's what I got.

Holey Moley, the new speedco Loves Channahon IL is a prime example of ineptitude. First wait 3 hours for PM after being told they have my oil in stock. Then pull in and get told the oil is actually not available by the tech. Manager says yes it is but oil pump not working-so sorry. Well I settle for a simple chassis lube only to find out they only plopped grease on fifth plate but not any into grease fittings ( I wasn’t charged). They dont allow any customers anywhere near the truck while doing work which is a huge negative if they are going to touch my truck. Say what you will about TA but Ive never had issue checking out the work. Speedco? No way!

The one in San Antonio had a great crew years ago and were cool to work with back then. The one thing that always struck me funny and I thought was bad for business was the piles of grease and oil drip covered exits out of the bays. Put so much grease in every zerk that a cartridge worth falls off every truck that leaves the place.

I trust speedco. they are human...its not the company...its the person taking care of you.
I had batteries installed at the Speedco in Aurora, Oregon next to the pilot and they did a great job.
I mean if you get an oil change and are worried about caps, do a pretrip before you leave. issue solved.
I trust speedco and will use them when I need to, if I cant do it myselfRideandrepair and TallJoe Thank this. -
