There's a ton of ambiguity in night. I challenge you to find the regulation authorizing nighttime. There is always daylight somewhere, except on the dark side of the sun.

If you're running this tight to earn a living, then you should probably consider looking for another carrier to work for.

For reference: I earn $80K+ per year, and sleep in my own bed 6 out of 7 nights per week (my choice, could be every night per week) Monday-Friday schedule, 02:15-06:30 start time. Weekend work is my option. I drive intrastate only, and interstate only when I agree to.

My company only requires one year of CDL experience, and not even OTR. You can probably do better.

caveat: Yes, I fingerprint the majority of my freight. Yes, it's worth it.

Hey, he's a newbie, trying to learn from his mistake. Sure he should have been able to figure it out before he took the load. BUT there can be so many variables that sometimes even an old time bread truck driver will have a problem.

Right. It pisses me off to see people jump on somebody who has come on here looking for information.

75+ year old company based in Scranton, PA that runs local / regional freight. PM me when you're ready. They'll demand a clean MVR with no DUIs ever, but they don't check your PSP. They'll also want you to relocate to within commuting distance to Scranton, since you don't take the truck home.

Question about split break: If I do full 10 hour break then drive 8 hours, sleep 8, drive one hour, then do a two hour sleeper break-how much time will I have on the 11 and 14?

Coming out of the sleeper you'd have 3 available hours to drive- depending... were you very strict with your 2 hour portion, what about pretrip, what about fuel time etc. time is ticking all the time with split break.

I recommend check out logbook .com and download their free software and mess around with it. You can put in your hours and it will project when you will go into violation.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Yeah, coming out of the 8 hour break I'd have 3 hrs of drive time but what about after the two hour break? How much drive time would I have?
