My first was for doing burnouts with a 69 Roadrunner when I was 16. Cop gave me a reckless driving ticket. He told my mom and dad he clocked me at over 100MPH on my way home. They were [TICKED!] Thing was the cop dropped the charge when I went to court. Later on I found out he was a bit of a motorhead. That probably helped don't ya think

I have heard of trucks getting tickets in Atlanta for the same thing. That place is ridiculous! You try to give enough room between you and the car in front and 5 cars will cut in front of you. If you kept trying to leave that buffer zone, it would take 3 days to get through Atlanta.

I am not behind the wheel of a CMV yet, but have had one close call in my 4-wheeler. I was on I-20 about an hour east of Dallas. A TX state trooper pulled me over and gave me a warning for 88 in i believe was a 70.

I was hauling a flatbed load of rental-trailer bumper hitches from Sedalia, MO to Hollywood, FL with a Cracker-box Jimmy in 1967. There were three traffic lights in Smyrna, TN. I stopped for the first one on red. The second light caught me, too. I determined to get a bit more smoke and noise from the screaming 238 Detroit and make the third light on green, but it changed on me and the yellow must have been very short. A cop was waiting on the cross street as I went through on pink, and I pulled over before he caught up to me.

He explained that the fine was $10. I could mail it in or pay it at the city hall. He assured me that there was truck parking behind city hall. When I got there, it looked like a truck stop with all of the drivers paying for that traffic light.

By the way, it has been forty years now and I have not been stopped for speeding with a truck. Knock on wood...

Wow! That's great! Knock on wood...........never got one with the big truck, but the car, well a different story.

Last one that cost me points was in 2001, with my new (sports car) of only 2 weeks. The cop was laughing at me cause I couldn't get the power windows down, finally had to start the car again while he stood there waiting. He did drop the speed down, but I still lost points.

First Ticket Ever - (1986, High School) Pulled over in a funeral prosession for driving wit no seat belt on. Cussed out the cop and almost went to jail. The City Judge at the time was the dad of a friend of mine, told him the story, didn't pay the ticket.

First and only moving violation ticket in a truck (1993)- 65 in a 55 in Ohio, coming out of West Virginia. Was driving significantly faster, but I pulled over immediately when I seen the trooper hit the ditch like the Dukes of Hazzard, so he went light on me.

First ticket in a big truck was about 8 miles from home, on my first ever trip with a trainer. 72 in a 65, going off a mountain with a real load for the first time in my life.

    Quality.
