Does anyone think Love s is like the Dollar General of truck stops?

Opinions on truck stop chains is like opinions on politics. We have our favorites and we hate the others because apparantly, "we must".

A lot of how one feels about them seems to depend on if you're a company driver or you buy your own fuel. I'm just thankful for any new truck stop that is opened. I'm with a company that is exclusive to PFJ. I used to be with an outfit that blended about 50/50 PFJ and Loves. I prefer to deal exclusively with PFJ if I must deal with one chain only.

 

I like the new Loves north of Oklahoma City, good parking lot setup imo.

 

i like Dollar General more than Loves.... i fuel at loves, but i really dont like to spend the night at one.
As for the comparision the OP spoke of, i see it.... lol

Props to Loves for opening up more stops and staying competitive.

 

At least Loves is aggressively building new locations around the country. It would be nice if all the major players would continue to build and maybe we could eliminate the parking shortage in this country.

And where is the last built from scratch T/A-Petro you have seen? For supposedly the top truckstop chain, they are being left in the dust. Sure Pilot/Flying J and Loves are actually just fuel stops, but T/A-Petro is losing business thru lack of locations.

And i like Dollar General because they built one 3 miles down the road from me and if i need something quick, i don't have to drive 20 miles into the large town for one item.

 

Yes have stayed there a few times recently. 2300 pulled in and still at least a quarter of spots still open. Easy backing and pretty clean store. A lot better than the Petro or J
