Smoked weed about 2months ago down and feeling low. Had not used in over 20 years. Does Westside transportation do follicle testing.

I have never smoked, but smoking pot once in 20 years is probably a lot less harmful than most people's weekly sugar/caffeine/tobacco/carb/alcohol/fat intake. The same people that constantly (and mostly rightfully) complain about government over-regulation are often the same ones that jump all over defending the current drug laws.

Pot has no place in this industry. Drivers are responsible for an 80,000 lb piece of equipment that would injure or kill anyone hit by it.

Smoke right before you go in to take the test. I know it sounds crazy, but the chemicals don't have time to get to your hair and its an automatic pass. Keep some emergency weed on hand and do the same when you get called in for randoms...you'll be fine.

Oh, and take all your tests at 4:20....we all know that stoners get stoned at 4:20 so you must be our kind of guy if you make yourself available for testing at 4:20 rather than getting stoned at 4:20.

I fully agree, stoners/alcoholics should not be in the industry. A guy that did it once in 20 years is no more a stoner than a guy that got drunk once it 20 years is an alcoholic, though.

But the OP said that he was feeling down, so he smoked. What is he going to do out on the road when those feelings come back?

Maybe get on a message board and vilify others for their mistakes?

Tell them upfront? Then tell them they can test you every day of every week until they're satisfied it was a mistake you made. (We all make them buddy) Weed has no place in any transportation job (heck, any job).Believe me, I smoked enough back in the day to keep the economy of Columbia humming along nicely.lmao. But that was decades ago and I'd never think of doing it while driving 80,000 lbs down the highway, and anybody who does should not only be fired, but arrested for risking a catastrophe,at least in my opinion.

Look, pot isn't the extreme hard drug. It should be legal. But the OP has an issue with using his head other than to get high apparently. He knew he was going for a job. Smoked. I hope they do hair test. That's what you get for forgetting to not be stupid.

    mitrucker Thanks this.
