the last driver to get canned put a truck and trailer into the trees. he was caught on camera looking out the window and lighting a cigarette, he blew right threw a stop sign and destroyed the truck. he then lied to workers comp and said the brakes failed. i think my boss said he fired him more for lying then the accident itself. so its not impossible to get fired. im guessing he has little tolerance for lying.

i cant say i dont blame him.

It never ceases to amaze me how certain shippers/receivers take it upon themselves to scrutinize wash tickets and the like. I can understand with milk...I had a situation at a place that loads freaking ROUND UP. It was a top load but I didn't have a prior bol. They really wanted to reject me. I had Dispatch fax an old bol and gave them a bogus story on why it was a week old. They loaded me, and afterwords checked this huge ledger they keep on every trailer they load. They were very upset I lied to them and said they'd be keeping a close eye next time. It just amazes me how much effort they put in to screwing my day up. Round up for god sakes...

Having worked some time in the ag field, I can say that I understand their scrutinization. Mix a bit of the wrong ag chem into a product and you can destroy millions of dollars of crops.

One of my former drivers got "loaded" in nj on a Friday evening before a holiday. He backed into the dock, the dock light was showing he was locked. He went into the place. It was crazy, he got his paperwork and went back to the truck. He saw the light had change on the dock and he pulls out, put a lock and seal on the door without looking at the trailer jumps into the truck and takes off for Denver. He bust butt across the country, gets there Tuesday afternoon and pulls into the dock, gets his paperworked signed. They break the seal and there is an empty trailer.

I don't know about destroying millions of dollars of crops but I know what happens when you mix a butyl ester herbicide with an amine herbicide. Instant sludge. Instant plugged up spray valve and wing booms and nozzles. Plugged up to where they have to be removed and steam cleaned and the residue contained and disposed of properly. At least a day of downtime for the aircraft. Big bucks, big headaches.
I can't imagine what a whole trailer load of contaminated insecticide or herbicide would cost and I don't want to find out.

Especially if something gets mixed with Roundup. There are crops engineered to ignore Roundup. Mix another chemical into it, and spray a field, and you could kill an entire crop in the field.

What? How? He pulled an empty trailer from NJ to Denver thinking he was loaded the whole time? How do you not realize it's pulling just a little to easy? Did it say sailboat fuel on the bills or what?
