No one lied you were selected to do a random and you refused to take an hour out of your day to go piss in a cup because yu wanted to be lazy. And I didn't have a ride isn't an excuse. Uber, lift, taxi, friends, neighbors.

I never answer the phone from corporate on hometime. If i dont recognize the number it goes to voicemail. In that case they dont know when your going to get the message. I will take a test anytime they want, just NOT on hometime; well maybe if they offered like 200-300 buckaroos
-
I would never have someone called up for testing on home time. But these variations are individual company policies, and most suck. As far as I'm concerned it can wait until they are at work again. I've worked for a few of the majors also (TMC, QC, FFE) and have never ever been requested to take a drug test on home time.
Father Luke and sidrambill Thank this. -
Oh well buddy. You refused to go take a test, which means by law you failed a test. You should have went
-
Kind of unusual to have a company call a driver at home like that for a drug test, however the best move would've been to drop whatever you are doing and get it done. Having that drug test refusal on your record is definitely a blackball.
-
You refused a drug test, so by law you failed a drug test. You chose top not take a little time to go do it, so now you get to deal with the consequences. Lesson learned we hope.
-
It's a failed test and too late to do anything for that one. It looks like you'll have to go through the hoops to get re-instated. Read the little green handbook section 40 to know what you have to do. If you stand your ground you'll loose and make it a whole worse than it is now. It''s also too late to tell you to read the book and know the laws. Hopefully any other new driver will see this and read the regulations and know what to do and not to do. You've got a hard road ahead if you want to stay a driver. This is a prime example why I ask for references when someone spouts off the laws with no backing. There's a lot at stake here and a big career move if you try to play hardball when you have no idea on what the regulations are. Good luck and work with the company and do not try to prove a point because you have none. Sorry.

My company told me to see the safety man before leaving on next trip. That is the way your company should have handled it. Other companies I have driven for handled it the same way.
