I once had a brilliant idea to buy a truck and trailer . . .

I’ve never made a mistake but I know a guy he did once. He left his clip board and bol on the back of his trailer and took off down the road with a 20’ wide load. The customer called him an hour later and said they found his paper work in the parking lot. He told them to just scan the bol and he would print it because he had a printer in the truck.

The customer said she would bring it to him where ever they stoped that night. She and her husband drove 200 miles, one way, from Tulsa to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. That’s good people. Sadly she got laid off when that plant closed it’s doors. I miss working with her.

You know, out of all of it. Ive had a folding bill pad run over and missing invoices, backed over a mail box in a long hood pete. Destroyed a new Charger getting it out of its resting location. Sitting you butt down in a pan of used gear lube takes the cake. Had to explain to GF back then while I stunk like used rear end fluid for a week or more.

Ack, used oil of any kind is nasty.

Used warm automatic transmission fluid can cause your hair to fall out.......doesn’t do your shoes any good either.

I rebuilt transmissions and differentials for years at a Gm dealer. My wife could always tell how bad it was. I've always had my separate laundry pile.

(A few months ago) On Friday, a customer (Mennonite) called and wanted a dump trailer load of 3/8 stone for Monday.

I was told to go get the load on Monday.

I drove the one hour trip to the pit with the truck and trailer.

I see the gates are closed to the pit.

I texted the customer that they're not getting their load of stone today. Pit is closed.

    (No reply)

Texted the boss, said pit is closed. Coming back to the yard.

    Boss replied, “it’s Sunday”

Customer replied 10 mins later “we don’t need the stone today, Monday is fine”

Burnt gear lube is the worse.
