Lol, I was in aviation so long I can smell the difference between a couple of the mil spec number of hydraulic fluid blindfolded from 10 feet away. Definitely not one easily forgotten.

Gear oil is on another level. Specially when we’ll used. Lol

Oh my list is far too long to post. Here's a few though.

I've went through 5 winch bars since I started flatbedding, always have a tendency to lean it against the trailer tire after I'm done tightening my straps.

I tarped a full load of lumber, 13'4" high, 8' tarps, when I was all done tarping and putting my bungees on I realized I hadn't thrown a single strap over the load.

Pulled into a rest area on I-80 in PA with a tanker and noticed a DOT trooper in the lot, whatever no big deal. Went to the bathroom and came back out and he was holding my clipboard in his hand with all my paperwork. I was like WTF did he go inside my truck and get it?? He handed it to me and told me "next time, don't leave this on your fender". Thankfully it was a non hazmat load or he could've really bent me over.

Last but not least, I hooked to a trailer, cranked up the dolley legs and couldn't pull out of my parking spot. Trailer brakes were locked. Spent 45 mins swearing and asking what I was doing wrong, finally went to the shop and got a mechanic. He came out, looked at it, climbed in my truck and pushed my red button in...

Don't know about that, nasty 90 weight will give me a massive headache with just one whiff.

That's hilarious. I've done that before, but not for 45 minutes!

I've made far too many mistakes to list.
Let's just say everything I've learned to do the correct way, by doing the wrong way first.

    Last night, fml.

It so cold here, dolly legs take 5-10 minutes to go up or down. Well I only put them 1/2 way up last night - yup, they snagged a dirt pile on a lease and bend them at a nice 45 degree angle.

Theres $1000 down the drain due to my laziness. Ugh, to top it off I’m pushing 16+ hour days so I’ll have to drive the hour to pick the trailer up, hour back to town and drop it off at a shop to get fixed.

At least the new legs will work good in very cold weather. They have the proper grease in them when new and no rust in the tubes seizing them up.
