I always put my pocket knife above my brake pedal when pretripping so I can check my brake lights. Finished pretrip got ready to roll pushed in red and yellow and tried to roll. Truck moved but brakes were dragging hum. Pulled knobs out and back in same thing. Walked around truck listening for air leaks that's when I saw brake lights still on :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Yup, I’m very guilty of this. Being in a company truck for years that had the light test, and now being in an older truck, I put something to hold the Jonny bar down to check the brake lights. Picking up a trailer a few months ago in Ohio when the first cold came through, I pretripped it, then went to take off and it wouldn’t budge. I just knew the brakes were frozen. Crawled under there in the snow and ice, banging on things, got back in the cab. Nada. That’s when when I noticed that roll of duct tape wedged between the Jonny bar and the dash....

Doing food service forgot all my bills somewhere. Had to call the night time dispatcher every stop to tell me what and how many bulk items i needed to drop. Stuff like lettuce, beef, tomatoes weren't labeled for each store.

Locked key in the truck in Harlem. Dispatch just said to bust out the wing window on the passenger side Lol in the middle of winter.

1st time unloading a pneumatic bulk trailer with cement to a drilling site i had to figure it out on my own after already being up for 20+ hours. I was coming from the Elmira schlumberger yard out to Ohio and the Ohio guys never waited for me to get there. They were kind enough to leave a hammer and 1 hose and the dust sock tho. Took almost 3 hours plus a few calls to my dad in the middle of the night but I got er done Lol. The company man was watching me like a hawk the entire time. I was 23 at the time and looked like about 16 still in high school

First trip out solo in 2014 and I stopped to fuel up before going through the New Mexico coup at the Texas/NM border on i-10. I had gotten the waive through the few times I had gone through with a comrade in the bunk, so it surprised me when they told me to proceed to the inspection bays.

Turns out I had forgotten to put the gas cap back on [driver's side tank in full view of DOT] and I was throwing diesel every herk and jerk of the tractor. Got put OOS while I put the gas cap back on. Aaaand I was back to teams again when I got back from the short trip.

And then there's the few times that I forgot to lower the landing gear of the trailer before taking off bob tail.

It's not mine, I destroyed it, it is repaired and the owner is at the casino. I did text him to call me in the am.

Living my half azzzed life I have been sincerely blessed with just enough Perseverance to barely overcome my stupidity .
