The tire that gave it up appeared to be almost a super single, designed for 20K on that axle or close to it. And the 2nd steering axle seemed to rated the same. That is a lot of rubber spinning out of balance on that axle, pulling it every direction.
I don't know what the steering geometry is like on a dual steer axle, whether it would normally be more or less stable.
