Yeah...I know who you are talking about. I'm in Mcdonalds using their wi-fi so I can't look up her name right now. I bet I'm going to get a call from her tomorrow about the accident friday.
E.W. Wylie has it all!!

It looks like I'm going to do a restart here in MO, which will be over at 5AM monday. I spent time today rearranging my webbing straps and cleaning all that dirt and dust on the bottom of the storage bin under the bunk and I found 5 more empty packs of Marboros (I think that's all of them). I'm not going to hate on the guys who "detailed" the truck. I tend to go through EVERYTHING when I get a "new" truck. After I cleaned every thing and rearranged stuff I now have more room for storage. I moved the truck two spaces down when I found out last night that trucks park in my path of travel. So now all I have to do is to pull straight out. I'm very skittish of this 53 foot step deck trailer because of the spread axles. I'm going to stick to the easiest parking spots until I get used to it. So far I've drove the 48' spread axle and the 53' foot Step Deck spread axle. For some strange reason the 48' foot Spread axle flat bed was harder to park! I'm kicking myself in the butt for leaving my coveralls at home. You go through a few days of clothing quickly. The price of laundry at the truck stops is highway robbery. So I started washing my clothes in the shower. Monday I'm going to have a talk with my dispatcher about sending me home.
KF7WTV Thanks this. -
If you could look at the 2 trailers side-by-side, you would notice that the axles on the 53' are actually closer to the king pin than on the 48'. Beats me, why, but that's the reason it's actually easier to maneuver. Just watch the tail swing radius, which shouldn't be a big deal with your previous dry van experience.

I'm at the shipper to pick up metal pipe. I don't want to go into all the details, but it ended with the loaders ripping the rub rail away from the frame of the trailer. About 10 feet of it. I couldn't take the load with the trailer like that, so the shipper had to unload me. I was out of hours after all the fact finding, so I had to get the trailer fixed saturday morning. It was a 4 hour weld job. Now I have to wait until monday to get reload.

Ooops. My bad.I did read that.Thought though you were talking "metal to metal" kind of accident.."This" ain't your fault in the slightest..A-OK..
Well. You know..
-
NOPE! Accident not my fault! But that weld repair... $700 bill...ouch!
-
Wow... $700 for 4hrs work. At 60 mph, that would be almost $3/mile! I wish!
