My first driving job was a septic truck. I’ve had to drag and pull hundreds of feet at times in those darn trucks. Quite often I’ve used every hose on the truck and have had another driver come meet me so I could use all of his too.

DOT pulled my CDL when I was 74; after 54 years being a OTR cowboy. It was because of a night vision problem, not because of poor health (in a manner of speaking). Since about 1978, I rarely had to handle a dry van freight load. Stay away from body job delivering to individual stores, grain hauling, flatbeds, tankers and oil field. If your are bent on long haul with dock & drop only, there lots of outfits out their that will hire you. The new tractors do not tear your back apart like the old COEs or conventionals.
