Yea a lot of y'all say that but America was different back then. Many drivers today come from countries where 250 a week is great money. They will take any cheap rate while living in their cheap truck...that they get to buy with discounts and incentives. Not sure if things will ever get back to the way they were.

Nothing goes back to the way it was. We must adapt or be left by the wayside.

Can you elaborate on this just a bit?
How do these fuzzy foreigners walk into a truck dealership and get these discounts and incentives that any real American doesn't have access to?

Man I’m with you. Any American can get into trucking ownership as easy as anyone from another country. Same as with Hotels. Anyone with good credit and the will power can do that too. Most would rather complain how easy someone else has it. While not really trying to hard to better themselves.

I wish I could but this is what several owner ops have told me this over the years but upon doing a little research myself I can't find any truth to it so I sit on the toilet corrected..if anyone else knows of this please enlighten us.

He might leave but there's dozen more lease purchase "owner operators" ready to haul that load for nothing

    I don’t know .

but there’s gotta be something to it .

I now work with Leaky underground fuel tanks at gas stations .
Servicing the same station or former station for 5 to 7 years

And some of the stations no longer sell gas since the leaky tanks have been removed .
And they won’t have 30 customers come in the door all day , yet the station sells to a new owner every 12-24 months like clockwork .
And when I look at the county website to see what the sale price was , it’s $300k or $400k in a rural area , and there isn’t enough customers to even pay the clerk and the electric bill , there certainly isn’t enough profit to pay the mortgage on a $400k loan .

    same with the motels .

how does someone from a foreign country have a great FICO or Beacon score ?

It’s gotta be some kind of fed gov assistance program and or some kind of tax dodge .

kind of like the federal government paying $200 a night for illegal immigrants to stay in motels , while they kick out homeless American veterans .

Homeless veterans booted from upstate hotel to make room for migrants

odd how CNN doesn’t have it as a story on their website .

To be real they do have programs that make it easier for foreign, person of color, or women to get business loans. The average white male does not get those breaks. Now with that being said, it is super easy for anyone to get into being a O/O so not that big of a deal in my eyes. Save 5K to 10K and you can get into trucking really easy.
