I've been thinking on how I can get more miles out of my day. If I start at midnight and drive till 0700 take my 30 minute break followed by my 30 minutes post trip can I then go straight into my 10 off duty and back on again after my 10 for another 6 of driving which would essentially give me 13 hours of drive time in a 24 hour period. In my governed truck at 63 mph I would get roughly over 800 miles in day . I know it won't be exactly 800 after trip planning for traffic but I should still get decent miles.

You wouldn’t need a 30 minute break right before a 10 hour break, and you don’t have to log a post trip, unless your company wants you to.

And your loads and when you load and unload won’t let you drive like that, unless you’re all anytime drop and hook.

And the 70 hour rule will force you to take resets if you could drive that hard.
    Good luck

Why would you take an 8 hour break? Driving 11 and taking a 10 would give you 13 hours and 30 minutes of driving. Remember the good ol' days when you could drive 16 hours in a day?

Sooner or later, D.O.T. will catch you. It is NOT worth the risk.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

    Say you start at 0000
    Drive 8 hours 0800
    30min DOT 0830
    Drive 3 hours 1130
    30min Post Trip 1200
    10 hours off 2200
    30min pre trip 2230
Drive 1.5 hours 2400 Been full 24 hours

You still drove 12.5 hours in a 24 hour period....Thats if your company makes you log your pre trip/post. So whatever plan you had works no matter how you do it in a 24 hour period... You will learn though that nothinf ever goes according to plan lol

Same but some companies require you to show on your logs. My company requires it and paid by the hour so i don't mind it at all lol

Start at midnite, drive 5, take a 2 hr break, drive 5, take an 8 hr sleeper, drive 5 (only 4 (minus your 30 min pti around your 8)gets logged before the following midnite)...I refer to it as split log leapfrog, it eliminates the need for a 30 minute break.
