Reality check "son". Its the law. If you are breaking the law you are a criminal.
If you are advocating for breaking the law then you are a piece of garbage.
If you don't like the law, stop whining and go do something to change the law. Run for congress and introduce a bill.

The only good things I can see about ELD is it fully ensures the commercial vehicle gets its proper rest break and is reasonably prevented from being overworked.

Well and if the Hours of Service are properly followed/falsified by the commercial driver using the ELD, then they have a pretty good chance of staying out of prison.

I'm a criminal... I worked 16+ hours the other day... Delayed at shipper, DANA Spicer, 5 hours while they made the parts, 36 mile run. The parts were needed to keep FCA Ram Truck plant (Warren Truck) up and running. I had the blessings of dispatch to do my job and Warren Truck Assembly was happy to see me. ;-)

ELD in my truck is nothing more than telling me, I am not trustworthy or honest and I highly resent that. ELD is another "ball and chain" around an innocent person, he is wearing a "monitor" like a convicted person under house arrest.

How does the ELD "fully" ensure a CMV gets it's proper rest? You think they can't be cheated? They do. And they have been for a very very long time. This isn't about safety. How can you not see that? If it were about safety all the megas would have been running them since they came out just like Werner.

I wrote the commercial vehicle gets its proper rest, not necessarily the commercial driver, as you said the ELD has no guarantee of that.
