"Not in my back yard", or NIMBYs. It's not that simple. It's one of the topics proEV advocates seem to ignore. The thing about ICE vehicles, they go no matter what, provided there is gas, of course, and there has been for 100 years. I feel, for the masses, you can't rely on something as fickle as electricity. Until that miracle chunk of energy comes out, currently hidden in a warehouse in Phoenix, where you get one every 3 months, EVs could never replace ICE vehicles. It just shows, something as stupid as EVs have gotten so big. Like classic cars, better make it now before it goes bust, and bust it will.

Don’t forget without power you can’t pump gas. Yes nobody wants a power plant in their backyard yard and some people don’t like gas vehicles. We will never make everyone happy.

I’m interested to see where EVs go as replacement for ice vehicles. Maybe they fail maybe not. They are still very expensive. If they ever come out with sold state batteries they claim they could really change thing in EVs favor.

If people could charge their car while driving in the future that would be big deal

    NOT FULLY LOADED.

Pepsi has tesla's in California and found that when loaded with 40,000 lb of Pepsi the max range in under 250 miles so the only thing they use them for is potato chips.

You would know this if you were following the ev craze.. ev's lose 50%-60% of their range when towing.

Now, for the 800 lb gorilla in the room. What happens when the pavement breaks up like on I-70, then rains. The if the insulation gets a little crack from freeze thaw cycles then gets wet, that's a lot of high voltage either shorting to ground or electrifying puddles. It'll be like a giant bug zapper

I loved the press conference with the president of GM showing a ev plugged into a charger at GM headquarters, when asked where the power was coming from she said from the building, asked where the building got it power from she said the local power company. Local power company was asked where the power came from... a local COAL power plant... so just how green is a ev...?
