I’m interested to see where EVs go as replacement for ice vehicles. Maybe they fail maybe not. They are still very expensive. If they ever come out with sold state batteries they claim they could really change thing in EVs favor.
If people could charge their car while driving in the future that would be big deal201 Thanks this. -
Pepsi has tesla's in California and found that when loaded with 40,000 lb of Pepsi the max range in under 250 miles so the only thing they use them for is potato chips.
You would know this if you were following the ev craze.. ev's lose 50%-60% of their range when towing.201 Thanks this. -
Now, for the 800 lb gorilla in the room. What happens when the pavement breaks up like on I-70, then rains. The if the insulation gets a little crack from freeze thaw cycles then gets wet, that's a lot of high voltage either shorting to ground or electrifying puddles. It'll be like a giant bug zapper
201, drvrtech77, Oxbow and 2 others Thank this. -
Tesla claimed they did 500 miles at 81,000 lbs it it been a while unless something changed about that story.

I loved the press conference with the president of GM showing a ev plugged into a charger at GM headquarters, when asked where the power was coming from she said from the building, asked where the building got it power from she said the local power company. Local power company was asked where the power came from... a local COAL power plant... so just how green is a ev...?
201, drvrtech77 and Oxbow Thank this. -
